I'm so excited! I love Yuletide, my first stop when I'm looking for a fix in a rare fandom. I remember sitting up all night reading when the stories went live last Christmas. I'll probably freak out about the writing bit when I get my assignment, but for now it's just nominating of fandoms and looking at other other peoples nominations and getting excited over all the awesomeness.

The last year I've just been all about computer games. Team Fortress 2 ate my life over half a year ago, and Cuanta Vida is a TF2 fan comic. Fallen Earth is a spanking new MMORPG set in a post-apocalyptic world.

But there are so many others too that I can't wait to read, or even write. Watership Down and Darts and Droids and Black Books! Ronia the Robbers Daughter and Portal and Half Life and Left4Dead! Varg Veum is nominated! Yay, Norwegian fandom. And why didn't I nominate Fucking Åmål? I wrote it in my note book and everything. Well, I have till Tuesday to change my mind and renominate and mess everything up :P

- Norwegian national assembly votes to allow same-sex marriage and adoption!
I don't follow the news at all (for health reasons), so this came right out of the blue for me. I'm so proud of my country right now! Go you, Norwegian national assembly, you rock!
And I voted for these people, so go me! We all rock! \o/

I've started adding stuff from my other del.icio.us account, which is a mess and not fit for public scrutiny. I've started with the oldest stuff, which means Supernatural and RPS. It's so weird seeing those again, though my account is less than a year old, so it's not that long ago. It's also a lot less than I thought. Hmm... Somebody rec me some Supernatural and CW RPS?

I can't be bothered to juggle 17 types of tags, so I only tag for writer, fandom, word count and genre/type. I tag all book and film fandoms as book and film respectively. Small tv fandoms are tagged tv.
Genre/type denotes if a story is slash, gen, au, crossover and so on. At the moment 24 out of 27 stories are tagged slash. Heh.

- I've sort of started to do viddy stuff like download programs and ripping dvds and making clips, but the first season of sga is kind of boring and bad and I'm easily distracted by ice cream, so things are moving along at the pace of a glacier. I promise nothing.

I was supposed to post for paintedspires today. But I have nothing to post. I have some major RL shit going on at the moment, which is generally just sucking the will to live out of me (well, not that scary, just exhausting). I signed up on a good day, not realizing it was never going to happen. So, no art from me :(
Also, no recs, no posts, no comments, no weeding out of the vid plot bunnies. Stupid head, start working again!

Hello, my name is frk. kake, and I want to be a vidder.

At the moment I have a lot of ideas, a lot of songs, I´ve watched a lot of vids lately, read all the meta and technical guides I can get my hands on, and I feel good to go. I just need a few hardware upgrades. Poor old Mac need a bit more juice to be up to the challenge, and I don´t have any free hard disk space anywhere. But when I get some money comming my way we´re in business :)

- Our cat has made a new friend. Lately when I´ve gone to let her in there has been a black cat with her. And when I let her out this morning the black cat was waiting for her!
It´s so weird. I´ve never seen them fight or make any sort of direct contact, they just ... hang out, sit in the sun, watch the traffic. What on earth do cats talk about?

- Am I the only one who bring her laptop to the toilet? I can´t be bothered to go offline for two minutes just because I have to pee. The internet is serious business! God, I love wifi.

Too much information?

The people living in the apartment under mine is apparently having some sort of 90s themed party. It´s been TLC, Blur and Tina Turner all night. I´m sitting on my bed pretending to do my homework and giggling from nostalgia induced glee. I clearly need to get to know my neighbors.

Oh god, I just signed up for paintedspires. ´Cause I need a new hobby (with a deadline!) like I need a hole in my head.

I´ve never done anything like this before. I mess around in Photoshop for school, and I make some icons from time to time, but I never show them to anyone. And I generally don´t do all that well with deadlines.

But I think it would be fun if I was able to pull it of, if I can make something I´m proud of and be able to post on time. I´m getting kind of excited already :)

It´s two beautiful stories where Rodney lose the ability to speak and instead have words coming out of his mouth in the form of three-dimensional shapes. Both stories are beautifully written, and the quiet and sparse writing style match the plot perfectly.

I love the idea of words as physical objects with colour, texture and weight. I can´t stop thinking about what shape the words I use would have. What does music have, or courage, or sunrise? What colour is my name? What shape is warm? Or gossip?

So it´s International Kilt Day today apparently. So this day could in fact get any better. No school today, or next week for that matter. I meant to make cookies earlier but ended up eating my self nauseous on cookie dough. I discovered the Nantucket AU (with podfic!). Then I had a delicious dinner. Episode 17 of Atlantis is downloading as I type, and I have the house to my self this evening to squee to my hearts content.

So I have started friending people. I´m thinking that in the long run I might move my whole fannish reading list from my Google Reader account to lj, to keep my public and my NSFW hobbies and interests more separate. I just need to see how keeping track of posts with the lj friends list mach up to Reader.

I just discovered metafandom. Oh boy. That´s five hours of my life I´ll never get back.

I have a deadline for a school project in two days, and this is what I do. Oh well. Hello World, hello Internet, hello Fandom. I am a lurker no more.
